Our fully renovated premises consists of a large, open-plan hair salon on the ground floor and five individual treatment rooms upstairs. Kathleen qualified in 1999, she started her career as a hairdresser working on cruise ships, combining a career she loved and travelling the world. In 2001 Kathleen returned to Cornwall and continued her career locally, building her professional reputation. In 2003 she began working for herself, hiring a chair in a local salon. By
2007, only four years later, Kathleen took over the
running of the salon and created SHINE.
After 7 successful years of growth, Kathleen was able
to expand the busy salon and moved into the current premises. In 2017 SHINE made its move into the beauty and wellness industry. The space above the salon was fully renovated and converted into 5 modern, comfortable treatment rooms.
After a career spanning 20 years, Kathleen is a multi-skilled hairdresser and still very much enjoys her work. She now specialises in creative colouring and cutting
and prides herself on running a happy salon with a

Rose has been part of the SHINE team since 2012. She was trained personally by Kathleen and qualified in 2013. Rose then went on to complete here Level 3 Hairdressing in 2014. She has continued her development at SHINE, growing into the confident and creative stylist she is today. Rose loves all aspects of hairdressing, but particularly enjoys colouring, especially Balayage and Ombre.
Rose very much enjoys continuing her development through courses, ensuring she is at the forefront of the latest cutting and colouring techniques.

Vickie joined the team after moving from Surrey to Cornwall. She qualified in 2012 and has since expanded her skills with courses in London, including Great Lengths Hair Extensions. Vickie now has many years experience working with Great Lengths Hair Extensions and says it's her favourite aspect of hairdressing. She also enjoys
being creative with cutting and styling. Vickie loves using social media to keep up-to-date with all the new trends.

Claire has worked locally within the area since she qualified alongside Rose in her NVQ level 3 hairdressing, she is now a Creative Director here at Shine. Claire has grown to become a bubbly and professional stylist and loves all aspects of hairdressing, specialising in Balayage, Ombré and Foilayage. As well as her passion for creating beautiful colours, Claire is also a specialist in hair-ups, in particular wedding hair. There is nothing more that Claire loves than when it comes to helping clients achieve their goal hair colour or cut and likes to keep her Instagram up to date with her latest ‘before and after’ transformations.

Trinity is currently training, studying her Level 2 NVQ at Exeter College. Trinity is also trained at SHINE to help develop her skills towards becoming a stylist.
Trinity enjoys creating hair-ups and learning new skills.

Joey is currently training at Petroc College, studying his nvq level 2 hair dressing. Joey is undergoing training at Shine to develop his hairdressing skills to prepare him to become a stylist. Joey also loves fashion, styling,
make-up, hair and being the centre of attention!

Emma has been practicing massage for the last 23 years. She has a wealth of experience in this field. Having begun her career at Champneys Health Resort, she went on to work in some of the most prestigious salons and spas in the country.
Emma specialises in Swedish, Traditional Thai, Deep Tissue & Pregnancy Massage, as well as Lava Shell treatments - which she also teaches.

Susan is an experienced massage therapist. She specialises in a wide range of treatment, including Abdominal Sacral Massage, Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stones, Therapeutic Massage, Myofascial Release - as well being a Dementia Massage practitioner.

Daniela qualified from Manchester University with a BSC hons in Physiotherapy in 1999. She has previously worked for the NHS, Team GB in Triathlon & Duathlon, and is now self-employed. Her long and broad career has equipped her with a wide range of physiotherapy knowledge and she now specialises in resolving musculoskeletal issues.

Eileen is a gifted medium with a natural talent in communicating with spirit. She specialises in mediumship, readings, working on platform and healing (spiritual and reiki), alongside running regular development classes for like-minded people. A genuine, kind lady who loves her job.
Sports Massage Therapist
Christine is a level 4 qualified sports massage therapist, specialising in providing treatments to prevent and manage injury. As a self employed therapist Christine works with a broad spectrum of athletes as well as people who just want a deeper, relaxing treatment.

Abi specialises in 100% natural and nutrient-dense facials, which combines her passion for feeding the skin, plant based phytonutrients along with her determination to reduce chemical toxicity on the body - all in the pursuit of skin health and wellness.
"I love everything to do with herbalism, so if I'm not using herbs in skincare you'll find me in the garden growing them. Failing that I'll be out running with my demented Lakeland Terrier, Archie."
Reiki Master Teacher & Practitioner
Jean is a fully certificated and insured Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner. I am able to offer Reiki, Crystal Healing plus Reiki and Crystals combined.
Jean will be teaching Reiki I, Reiki II and Reiki Master III in the near future, in small classes to enable plenty of one to one teaching. Please call Jean to find out more.
Carol qualified as an advanced BACP therapeutic counsellor in 2006 and has experience working both within the NHS and private setting.
She is now self-employed with a passion for promoting mental well-being. Specialist interests are anxiety and depression, self-esteem work and couples therapy
